SunstarTV Bureau: On late Sunday night The Station Master at the Nayagarh railway station sustained multiple injuries after he was allegedly beaten up by a group of varlets.
The Station Master, identified as Sanjay Pradhan was clobber by a group of around 8- 10 miscreants after he asked them not to consume liquor and chit chat on the railway station premises which is illegal as per the Railway and Excise Acts, sources said.
When he tried to dissuade them to drink and vacate the place, the ‘drunk’ varlets allegedly turned violent and overpowered the station master before beat him black and blue. They also terrorised the other railway staff present at the spot. Before leaving the place, they ransacked the premises including offices and set fire to some equipment at the railway station.
Meanwhile, police have begun investigation after a formal complaint in connection with incident was lodged. No arrests have been made so far.
The injured Station Master has been admitted to Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital
