Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Measure relief for the People of Odisha from heat wave as rainfall is likely to lash in several parts of the State for three days starting from today, informed Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today.
According to sources, the thunderstorm may occur in southern, interior, coastal and north coastal districts of the State from today afternoon till morning of April 5.
A trough runs from Odisha to North Interior Karnataka with an embedded cyclonic circulation over south Odisha & neighborhood and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. Despite a little drop in temperature across the State yesterday, heat wave conditions prevailed at one or two places over the districts of interior part of the State.
Day 1 (valid from 1.30 PM upto 8.30 AM of April 3)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha
Meanwhile, Met issued thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40- 50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Khordha, Nayagarh.
Day 2 (valid from 8.30 AM of April 3 upto 8.30 AM of April 4)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha and at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur.
Day 3 (valid from 8.30 AM of April 4 upto 8.30 AM of April 5)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Koraput and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha
