Heavy heat wave in Odisha: IMD issues yellow warning to 20 districts till April 2

Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued yellow warning to 20 districts in state for the next 48 hours. The temperature is likely to rise by around 2 degrees Celsius and will decrease by 2-3 days after three days.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperature to remain above normal as 4-6 degree Celsius at several places over the districts during next three days, informed IMD.

According to report, on Monday, Titlagarh recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees, followed by 42 degrees in Baripada, Bolangir with 41.5 degrees, Jharsuguda with 41.2 degree and Angul with 41.1 degree Celsius.

Heat wave condition very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore on Tuesday.

Similarly, on March 31, the heat wave condition to occur at several places of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Valid from 1330 hrs IST of April 2 up to 0830 hrs IST of April 3

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore

Thunderstorm, lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput.
