SunstarTV Bureau: The B.Tech third year students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela opposed the institute’s plan to hold end semester exams in offline mode, as three Covid cases have been detected in the institute this month .
The NIT Senate said the proposed semester examinations will be held in online mode.In a notification, the authority stated that the institute will not be responsible for any kind of internet problem to appear end-semester exams in online mode. The schedule of the examination will be informed to students in advance.
During a meeting of NIT-Rourkela’s Senate yesterday evening, a decision was taken to allow students to leave hostels in a week.As,a total of four Covid-19 cases have been detected in the institute this month triggering panic among the students.
“We have increased the number of testing. Covid-19 guidelines are also being enforced strictly in the Institute. There is no need to press the panic button as the number of positive cases is still in single digit,” said Rourkela ADM Aboli Sunil Naravane emphasised on strict enforcement of Covid-19 guidelines in the institute.
