SunstarTV Bureau: Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Ananya Das informed more than 300 swab samples were collected from the university and sent for testing today. Yesterday, 92 samples were collected, after two hostel inmates of Ravenshaw University here were found COVID-19 positive, three more from the varsity have contracted the virus.
Two lecturers and a student staying in hostel have tested positive for the virus, confirmed PG Council Chairman Smrutiprabha Das. With this, the university has reported five positive cases recently.
A meeting will be held later in the day regarding closure of the university.
Following disclosure of the cases, the university authorities yesterday postponed the UG and PG examinations, which were scheduled to begin on March 25.
