SunstarTV Bureau: Tension evolved at National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) at Damanjodi  in Koraput district following a tusssle between Police and NALCO evicts who were on dharna for last four days demanding employment as per the reports.

Police dashed tear gas shell as the protesters reportedly assail stones at the security personnel. They also staged road blockade at Nalco road bringing vehicular traffic into a grinding halt. One police personnel sustained certain injuries while a police vehicle and magistrate’s car got damaged in the stone assailation. As many as 20 protesters have been taken to police custody.

Tension conquered after administrative officials today reached the protest venue and tried to pacify the protesters. The administration seized the hike of tension by imposing prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC at Anlabadi-Nalco Mines.

At present, eight platoons of forces have been mobilised to the spot.To keep a close eye on the situation and preventing it from worsen Superintendent of Police, Sub-collector ,Tehsildar and eight platoons of forces have been mobilised to the spot.
