Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): In commemoration of the 105th birth anniversary of former Odisha Chief Minister, the ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has commenced the occasion by holding a massive cycle rally on Friday early morning.
Meanwhile, the rally also marks the historic and adventurous 4,500 km-long-cycle tour of Biju Patnaik from Cuttack to Peshawar (known as Pakistan after partition) in 1932.
The cycle rally was started from Biju Babu’s birth place Anand Bhawan in Cuttack to his statue at Bhubaneswar airport.
Thousands of youngsters and BJD members took part in the event.
According to sources, BJD’s organizational secretary and Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das graced the cycle rally today.
Similarly, a blood donation camp ‘Jeevan Bindu’ (Voluntary Blood Donation Camp) also been decided to place till his 24th death anniversary on April 27.
Notably, yesterday informed about the programmes by issuing a press communiqué signed by BJD (youth affairs) state general secretary Pranab Kumar Balbantray, Biju Yuba Janata Dal’s state president Byomkesh Ray and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal state president Debi Ranjan Tripathy.
