Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The sensational 1999 Anjana Mishra gang rape case in Odisha, prime accused Biban Biswal aka Bibekananda Biswal was taken by the Central Beureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday morning to recreate the incident in Barang.
According to sources, CBI team along with local police officials took Biban to the crime spot where the accused recreated the scene on the spot for 45 minutes long.
Meanwhile, Biban is under the central probe agency on a two day remand on Thursday and will be produces before the CBI Special Judge Court today at 5 pm.
The CBI officials interrogated Biban about the people who helped him flee Odisha after committing the crime and how he evaded the arrest for more than two decades.
On March 3, Anjana identified Biban during a test identification (TI) parade conducted by the CBI under Section 9 of the Indian Evidence Act in the supervision of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Srujalin Mohanty at the Jharpada Jail.
Biban was arrested by the Commissionerate Police last month from Maharashtra’s Aamby Valley.
