Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Odisha Government has directed all the district collectors to remain alert sensing the threat of Coronavirus spread in state again. The alert has been issued after Maharashtra reverting lockdown like conditions in some of its district.
According to Union Health Ministry given data, Maharashtra and Kerala reported as many as 75 percent of the new confirm cases.
On Friday, the additional chief secretary (Health) PK Mohapatra sent a missive to the all Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, Police Commissioner directing them to ensure strict enforcement of the global pandemic in their respective districts to avoid the return of corona virus to the State.
“In view of movement of persons across the country, it is quite possible that such a situation may arise in Odisha unless adequate precautions are taken,” wrote Mohapatra.
“Special care is to be taken to ensure that these measures are implemented in crowded places such as markets, religious institutions and other public places. There should not be any deviation in implementing the above instructions,” Mohapatra mentioned.
The Odisha Government further placed an order to district Collectors and Municipal Commissioners to maintain adequate testing levels as per the guidelines.
