Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): On the auspicious occasion of Basanta Panchami, Odisha Governor and Chancellor Prof. Ganeshi Lal, with his Excellency, launched a website for Utkal University Alumni Association at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
Along with Governor, the Utkal University Alumni Association President Bijay Kumar Patnaik, General Secretary Ashok Kumar Das, Vice Chancellor of Utkal University Prof. Sabita Acharya, Vice President D.P. Das, Treasurer D. Bisoi, Joint Secretary of Utkal University Alumni Association R.N Prusty and IAS Dr. P.K. Meherda were graced their valuable presence on the very occasion.
The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Ashok Kumar Das, the former Vice Chancellor of Utkal University and the general secretary of Alumni association, said that, “Website is an open window or a looking glass that depicts the internals of the distinguish features of an organization.”
According to Bijay Kumar Patnaik, “we took some time to register due to the obstacle of global pandemic, however, the process were slower down. And now we are registered body. We have been trying to enroll members of this association.”
“Activities are centered on two major pillars where one pillar is faculties and other is students. And our association helps to combined this two pillars together,” he further added.

The Utkal University Alumni Association Website will connect alumni of the university working or staying in and outside the country. The alumni can register their names by opening the website. Meanwhile, the university also appealed to the alumni to register their names for the website.
The NAAC A+ accredited Utkal University, established in 1943, is the oldest university in the state and 17th oldest in the country.
