Khurda (SunstarTV Bureau): The STF and Begunia police busted at a duplicate tobacco manufacturing unit at Beguniapada village here on Saturday.
One Manas Prusti who was present in the unit has been detained for further investigation.
Acting on a tip-off, the special investigation squad has busted at the certain place and huge quantities of tobacco worth lakhs of rupees and other manufacturing articles, labels and empty cans of various brands have been seized during the raid, informed inspector Ashok Kumar Giri.
Similarly, another raid conducted at a shop in neighboring Pichukula, the STF and Begunia police recovered large quantities of packed duplicate zarda meant for sale.
In a major crackdown, an investigation has been conducted under the supervision of inspector Sunita Pradhan along with Begunia police has recovered huge quantities of duplicate zarda from a shop in Pichukula. The owner of the shop, Manoj Kumar Sahu, has been detained for questioning.
