Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Family and Welfare Department informed that the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination for frontline workers in state will commence from February 6.
As many as 1,92,437 frontline workers including 1,57,388 police and security personnel, 25,961 sanitation workers and 9,088 revenue staff have enrolled for the vaccination drive.
The second spell of the first phase vaccination will continue till February 10.
The State government has asked all collectors, Municipal Commissioners, directors of capital hospital and Rourkela government hospital to make arrangements for vaccination sites other than the health facilities in their respective areas.
In the last 24 hours the tally of Covid-19 cases pushed to 3,35,211 after detecting 60 new cases, while the number of active cases has dropped below 900 in state. The single digit Covid-19 cases recorded in 17 districts, seven districts reported one positive case each.
So far, 1906 people have succumbed to the disease and with this the lowest fatality rates stands at 0.56 percent.
