Washington (SunstarTV Bureau): A grim milestone fetched high as the Johns Hopkins University has reported the total number of global coronavirus cases has topped the 100.7 million mark, while the death toll have surged to more than 2.17 million till Thursday morning.
As per the latest given statement of Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE), the current global caseload stood at 100,755,075 while the death toll counted to 2,170,608.
The US country recorded the world’s highest Covid cases and death rates at 25,588,419 and 4,28,862 respectively. Following US, India stands at second place with 10,689,527 Cases and with 153,724 death cases.
According to CSSE reports, other countries with more than a million confirmed cases are Brazil with 8,933,356, Russia with 3,733,692, the UK with 3,725,637, France with 3,165,449, Turkey with 2,449,839, Italy with 2,501,147, Spain with 2,670,102, Germany with 2,179,679 and Colombia with 2,055,305.
The second highest number death toll recorded in Brazil at 2,18,878. Following Brazil, Mexico with 1,52,016, the UK with 1,02,085, Italy with 86,889, France with 74,600 and Russia with 69,971.
