SunsatrTV Bureau: A joint team of Odisha has busted a racket involved in selling fake COVID-19 negative certificates to people during the pandemic.
One person, identified as Kalandi Tarai, from Dalimipur in Paradip has been arrested in connection with the incident.
As per reports, Tarai along with the help of others was earlier issuing fake COVID-19 negative certificates to people at Rs 300. Later, he reduced the price and charged around Rs 70 for one certificate.
Sources said that racket was mostly targeting labourers and allegedly used to issue fake gate-passes to them to gain entry at IOCL.
In the fake COVID certificates, the accused had forged signatures and created fake rubber stamp of a government and a private doctor.
