Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has expedited the on-going construction work of the flyover on National Highway No 5 in order to make it functional by June this year.
Notably, the 2 kilometers flyover construction work had started with an estimated cost of Rs 115 crore in June 2019.
According to NHAI Chief General Manager (CGM) Ram Prasad Panda, “The flyover will be completed in time and become functional by June this year. Proposals will also be sent to the NHAI for the construction of two more foot over-bridges between Rasulgarh, Palasuni and Jaydev Vihar-Nayapalli Puja Mandap.”
NHAI sources said, the flyover will have separate service roads for local vehicles and slip roads for the vehicles coming on the highway. The construction will help to manage over the traffic and also help for smooth entry and exit of vehicles from the bus terminus at Bermunda to the national highway.
Besides, the NHAI has also approved the construction of a foot-over-bridge between Saheed Nagar and Satsang Vihar Park in Bhubaneswar.
“The estimated cost of the bridge construction will be 1.25 crore,” said NHAI report.
