Koraput (SunstarTV Bureau): A major drug trafficking racket was busted here as police on Friday have arrested two persons and seized around 134.6 kilograms of the narcotic substance near Kangaon village under Machkund area, officials said.
The accused duo has been identified as Chaturam of Bihar and Rajiya Paswan of Delhi.
According to sources, a joint team of Machkund and Lamtaput police came across the transportation of ganja from Andhra Pradesh via Machkund, Lamtaput and Jeypore to Bihar in a Bolero. During a routine check, the police personnel intercepted the vehicle and nabbed the two near Kanagaon square.
Following searches, police recovered the ganja concealed inside the seat of the vehicle which worth over Rs 4 lakhs.
Meanwhile, the two peddlers have been sent to the Lamtaput Police Station for interrogation about the matter.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
