SunstarTV Bureau: Bhubaneswar is going to set it’s first-ever thrifting event on Sunday.
‘Friday For Future’, an international climate change movement, which also has a regional chapter in the capital city of Odisha will be introducing thrifting culture to the state with a student-driven event to promote sustainability and reusing.

In this thrifting event you can shop gently used items at discounted prices. Even the thrifted items are usually in good shape and sold by the previous owner so that it can be useful to a new owner. It can be any item, from clothing, accessories to books as well.
This concept which is relatively new to the country as well is quite popular in western countries.
This event is carring out by the student organisation ‘FFFBhubaneswar’.

Akankshya Mohanty, founder, FFF Bhubaneswar, said, “Thrifting promotes sustainability and reusing. Through the event, we aim to introduce this environment-friendly alternative to people. Given the current economic scenario, it will also be a cheaper alternative for people who want to go shopping or buy something without straining their purse.”
In this event people will not only be able to go thrift shopping but also enjoy live music by local artists and food by small local businesses.
The event will take place at Urban Legends, Patia in Bhubaneswar on Sunday with on-spot registration.
