Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released important guidelines for students and faculty of higher education institutions for their participation in track 2 of Toycathon 2021- a hackathon to create toys.
As per guidelines, the students and faculty members have been asked to submit their ideas by January 20 and students can win prizes worth Rs 50 lakh under the Location 2021.
“All vice-chancellors of universities and principals of colleges are requested to share this initiative with students and faculty of their respective institutions and encourage them to actively participate in the Toycathon 2021,” UGC stated in its official notice.
Worth informing fact here that Toycathon 2021 (A Hackathon) was launched by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhhriyal and Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani on January 5.
Earlier under the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Toycathon was based on nine themes – Indian culture, history, knowledge of India and ethos; learning, education, school and, schooling; social and human values; occupations and specific fields; environment; divyang; fitness and sport; out of the box, creative and logical thinking and rediscovering traditional Indian toys.
Toycathon 2021 is an inter-ministerial initiative organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell with support from the All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, and others.
