SunstarTV Bureau: Majyurbhanj police arrested two persons allegedly involved in the crime of fake currency racket, on Thursday.
Police said, the accused are identified as two brothers, Rasbihari Rana and Rakhyahari Rana from Bahadagoda of Jharkhand.
According to report, the police conducted raids at the KC Circle area in the town and arrested the duo while they were trying to circulate the fake currencies in the market at Baripada.
During the raid, police recovered counterfeit notes worth Rs 85,000, 110 fake notes of Rs 500 denomination and 300 fake currencies of Rs 100 denomination and also two mobile phones from the arrested persons.
Earlier on November 26, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch had seised Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth over Rs 3 lakh following raids at two places near Similiguda and Sunabeda in Koraput district. One person, identified as Anam Khilo of Lekhiguda area had been arrested in connection with the incident.
