Though, the government has not yet requested the armed forces to assist in the delivery and distribution of a vaccine, IAF has volunteered for the noble purpose.
According to the report, the vaccines will be transported in special boxes and there will be no need to reconfigure the aircraft to carry them. There is no need to modify the existing aircraft.
This will primarily involve moving vaccines from the 28,000-unit cold storage network and ensuring the doses reach remote areas without losing their efficacy.
