SunstarTV Bureau: Haryana minister Anil Vij announces he has tested positive for Covid-19, after being administered a dose of Covaxin.
On November 20, he was administered a dose of Covaxin at a hospital in Ambala, as part of its third phase trial.
In response to which Bharat Biotech has released an official statement saying, “Covaxin clinical trials are based on a 2-dose schedule, given 28 days apart. The vaccine efficacy will be determined 14 days post the 2nd dose. Covaxin has been designed to be efficacious when subjects receive both doses.”

Covaxcin is India’s indigenous COVID-19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech is developed in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute of Virology (NIV).
The indigenous, inactivated vaccine is developed and manufactured in Bharat Biotech’s BSL-3 (Bio-Safety Level 3) high containment facility. The vaccine received DCGI approval for Phase I & II Human Clinical Trials and the trials commenced across India from July, 2020.
