Monsieur Dharampal Gulati was born on 27 March 1923 in Sialkot, Pakistan and it was from here that the foundation of his spice business was laid. The company started with a small shop in the city, which his father started before partition. However, at the time of partition of the country in 1947, his family shifted to Delhi and established the spice empire Mahashian Di Hatti Private Limited.
