SunstarTV Bureau: Justice Bijoy Krishna Patel chaired as the Chairperson of Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC), today.
Governor Ganeshi Lal had approved the recommendation made by a committee headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to appoint former High Court judge Justice Patel as the Chairperson of OHRC on November 27.
He will replace Justice BP Das, who attained retirement on November 14.
Justice Patel had served as Orissa High Court (HC) Judge from January 17, 2008 to January 23, 2015. Earlier, he served as Principal Secretary to Government of Odisha, Law Department between May 2, 2007 and January 16, 2008.
