Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Odisha government employees will be penalised if they hereafter stage strike hampering the public’s safety, under the new Essential Services (Maintenance) Amendment Bill 2020 passed by the State Assembly, today.
According to the new accord, if the strike conducted by the government employees will threaten the safety of the laymen, legal action will be taken against the concerned person. The offender will either face one year jail or pay Rs 5,000 or may be both, depending upon the gravity of the situation.
The amendment bill includes the Fire Services, Forest, Excise, Prison Reforms and Electronics and Information and Communication Departments.
