SunstarTV Bureau: The state anthem of Odisha, ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ will be included in Odisha’s school curriculum, with the approval of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

As per the government notice, the state song written by prominent poet ‘Laxmikanta Mohapatra’ has been prescribed for the students of Class 9th and 10th.
‘Bande Utkal Janani’ was accorded as the state song status with the approval of the virtual cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on June 7, 2020.
This song was first sung at the Utkal Sammilani’s Conference at Balasore in 1912. It was used as a weapon by the Utkal Sammilani to emancipate Odisha.
